Stick Fighter Unblocked is a search with more than one answer, because “Stick Fighter” is the name of several different stick-figure fighting games. The one most players mean today is Stick Fighter by ARF Game Studio: a quick two-button fighter with six stick fighters, each with their own moves. Older players may remember an unrelated Flash game of the same name on Y8 that copied the feel of 1990s arcade fighters. What they share is the format: two stick figures, one screen, and whoever drains the other’s health bar first wins.
The game on this page is Inkfist Duel, igame9’s own free fighter in that style. It plays like a small arcade fighting game: health bars, a round timer, best of three rounds, blocking high and low, throws, combos, three special moves and a super meter. Fight through an Arcade ladder of seven CPU rivals, or play a friend on one keyboard. It runs in the browser on laptops, Chromebooks and phones.
How to play Stick Fighter Unblocked
- Press Arcade to fight seven CPU rivals in a row, or 2P Versus to play a friend (or a CPU you pick). Every rival you beat in Arcade becomes playable.
- Walk with A D or the arrow keys, jump with W or ↑ (hold a direction for a forward or backward jump) and crouch with S or ↓. Tap forward twice to dash in, back twice to back-dash.
- Attack with J (light) and K (heavy). Light attacks are fast and chain into each other; heavy attacks reach further and hit harder. Holding ↓ turns them into a low poke and a sweep that knocks the opponent down.
- Hold L to block. Jump-in attacks must be blocked standing, and crouching attacks must be blocked while holding ↓. If someone just blocks, walk up and press forward + L to throw them.
- Specials: ↓ → + J throws an Ink Orb, ↓ → + K is a multi-hit Spin Rush, ↓ ← + attack is a Rising Fist uppercut. When the meter under your health bar flashes, press J + K together for the Ink Storm super. Win two rounds to win the match.

Stick Fighter Unblocked tips & strategy
- Light, light, heavy, special. Two jabs, a heavy kick and then ↓→+K is the basic combo. Specials can only cancel an attack that actually hits, so if the jabs are blocked, stop and keep blocking.
- Mix high and low. CPU rivals on higher stages block a lot. Alternate a crouching jab or sweep with a jumping kick so they have to guess which way to block.
- Throw the turtles. Blocking stops every attack except a throw. If a rival sits in guard, step in and press forward + Block.
- Answer jumps with the Rising Fist. ↓← + attack comes out almost instantly and can’t be hit during its first frames, so it beats most jump-ins.
- Spend meter on a finish. The super does big damage and an Ink Storm knockout earns 2,000 bonus points in Arcade. Perfect rounds and time left on the clock add more.
- Learn the rivals. Bulwark has a huge health bar but walks slowly, Volta zones with fast orbs, Ember rushes you with spin kicks, Mirage dashes straight through you and Onyx, the champion, does everything well.
Which Stick Fighter are people looking for?
There is no single official “Stick Fighter”. Here is what the name usually points to:
- Stick Fighter by ARF Game Studio. A “two button fighter” where you pick one of six unique stick fighters. It is a downloadable game for Windows and Linux on itch.io (name your own price). Version 1.1.3 came out in December 2022 and the page lists it as in development. It has no built-in online play; the developer’s community uses remote-play tools instead. Many web portals also list a browser version under the same name.
- The older Flash Stick Fighter. A classic 1-or-2-player game in the style of 1990s arcade fighters, still on Y8 through a Flash emulator.
- Lots of similar names, such as “Stickman Fighter” and “Stick Fight”. That last one is a different kind of game, a four-player physics party brawler (see our Stick Fight Unblocked page).
Our game follows the first two: a one-on-one duel with health bars, rounds and a roster of rivals with different styles.
Why stick fighter games are popular “unblocked”
“Unblocked” is simply what people add to a game name when they want something that runs in a browser tab: no installer, no account and no admin rights, which suits shared computers and school Chromebooks. Stick fighting games fit that well because stick figures are cheap to draw, so the games are small and load fast even on modest hardware.
Inkfist Duel is a small HTML5 file with no plug-ins or downloads, and it saves your progress in local browser storage. We don’t offer, and won’t explain, ways around network filters; please play when your school or workplace allows it.
The Inkfist Duel stick fighter roster
You start with Quill, an all-rounder with a red headband. Arcade sends seven rivals at you, each tougher than the last, on its own stage. Beating one adds them to your roster for Arcade and Versus.
| Stage | Rival | Style | Stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 · Paper Dojo | Dabble | Nervous rookie, rarely blocks | 90 health, slow |
| 2 · Neon Rooftop | Brisk | Speedster, jumps in a lot | 88 health, fastest walk |
| 3 · Old Harbor | Bulwark | Tank, blocks and hits hard | 130 health, +25% damage |
| 4 · Power Station | Volta | Zoner with fast Ink Orbs | Orbs 50% faster |
| 5 · Ember Temple | Ember | Rushdown, spams Spin Rush | +10% damage, quick |
| 6 · Moon Garden | Mirage | Trickster | Dash blinks through you |
| 7 · Storm Summit | Onyx | The champion | 120 health, +20% damage |
Easy, Normal and Hard change how fast the CPU reacts, how often it blocks and anti-airs, and how reliably it finishes combos.
Fighting game basics in a stick fighter
A few ideas from classic arcade fighters make every stick duel easier to read:
- Startup, active, recovery. Every attack has a wind-up, a moment where it can hit, and a recovery where you are open. Jabs recover fast; sweeps and Spin Rush leave you wide open if they are blocked.
- Hit-stun and combos. A clean hit freezes the target for a moment. If your next attack lands before they recover, it counts as a combo, shown by the hit counter. Later hits do a little less damage.
- Counter-hits. Hitting someone while they are starting their own attack does 20% more damage and gives more hit-stun.
- Meter. Dealing and taking damage both fill the super meter, so a player who is losing still builds toward a comeback.
Stick Fighter Unblocked FAQ
Is Stick Fighter Unblocked a real game?
Not as one official title. “Stick Fighter” is used by several different games, most notably ARF Game Studio’s two-button fighter with six stick fighters. Sites that add “unblocked” usually mean a browser version. Inkfist Duel on this page is igame9’s own free stick fighter.
Can two players fight on one keyboard?
Yes. In 2P Versus, Player 1 uses W A S D to move with F (light), G (heavy) and H (block). Player 2 uses the arrow keys with J, K and L, or Numpad 1, 2 and 3. You can also set Player 2 to CPU.
How do I do special moves?
Press down, then forward, then an attack: ↓→ + Light throws an Ink Orb, ↓→ + Heavy is the Spin Rush, and ↓← + an attack is the Rising Fist. On a touch screen, use the SP button: on its own for the orb, with down for the Rising Fist, and with forward for the Spin Rush.
How do I unlock more fighters?
Beat a rival in Arcade mode and they join your roster straight away. All eight fighters are always available in Versus.
Does it work on phones and Chromebooks?
Yes. Chromebooks and laptops use the keyboard; phones and tablets get a d-pad plus Light, Heavy, Block, Special and Super buttons. Two-player versus needs a physical keyboard.
What is saved?
Your best Arcade score, furthest stage, number of Arcade clears, unlocked fighters and chosen settings are stored in your browser on that device.
