Temple Run 3 is the name fans gave to the next big entry in Imangi Studios’ endless-runner series for more than a decade. Imangi finally used it: in late 2025 the studio soft-launched an official third game for iOS and Android in a handful of test countries. It sticks to the classic formula. You grab the idol, sprint along crumbling paths high above the jungle, swipe to turn at every corner, and jump and slide to stay ahead of the creatures chasing you.
The game on this page is Jungle Relic Dash, igame9’s own free runner in the same style. You turn 90° at path corners and T-junctions, use three lanes, and collect gold coins and power-ups. A stone guardian closes in after every stumble. It runs in any modern browser on desktop, Chromebook and phone, with no install and no account. Below you’ll find how to play, what is known about the official sequel, and how the whole series fits together.
How to play Temple Run 3
- Press Space, click or tap Run. Your explorer starts sprinting on their own. The Stone Warden chases you for the first few seconds, then falls back.
- Change lanes with ← → (or A D, or a swipe) to dodge carved guardian stones that block one or two lanes.
- When the path ends in a corner, press or swipe toward the open side to turn. You can press a moment early and the turn happens right on the corner. At a T-junction either way works. If you miss the turn, you run off the edge.
- Jump (↑, W, Space or swipe up) over gaps and twisted roots. Slide (↓, S or swipe down) under low stone lintels. Pressing slide in mid-air drops you straight into a slide.
- Grab gold coins and three power-ups: Magnet, Shield and Double Coins. Score = metres run + 5 × coins. Coins carry over between runs and buy longer power-ups in the Upgrades menu.

Temple Run 3 tips & strategy
- Turn early, not late. The turn is accepted several metres before the corner and fires exactly at the corner, so press as soon as you see which way the path goes.
- Look for the giant idol head. A big stone head marks the end of every straight. When it fills the view, a turn is coming.
- Two stumbles in about seven seconds and you are caught. Roots, rubble and clipping a stone from the side make you stumble. After one stumble the red edge glow tells you to play safe until it fades.
- Shield beats stones, not gaps. A Shield absorbs one crash or stumble, but it can’t save you from falling into a gap or off a corner.
- Use the fast-drop. If you jumped too early in front of a stone lintel, press slide in the air to drop and slide under it.
- Upgrade the Magnet first. Longer magnets earn the most coins per run, and coins pay for everything else.
Is there an official Temple Run 3?
Yes, but only as a limited test so far. Imangi Studios, the small North Carolina studio of Keith Shepherd and Natalia Luckyanova, soft-launched the third game on the App Store and Google Play in late 2025. Industry press reported it in November 2025, available in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Türkiye. It goes back to the jungle setting and the run-jump-slide gameplay of the first two games. It adds heroes with their own abilities, pets that help during a run, perks and a global leaderboard.
A soft launch is a test release. Studios use it to tune difficulty and monetisation before a worldwide launch, and the game can change or be pulled during that time. At the time of this update we could not find an announcement of a worldwide release date. The sequel is a mobile app, not a browser game. If you see a website offering it to play in your browser, it is not Imangi’s game.
Until a global release, the official ways to play are the earlier games. Temple Run 2 is on iOS and Android, and Imangi also released it on the web portal Poki in 2020. On Apple Arcade there is Temple Run: Legends.

How turning really works (and why you keep missing corners)
Corners are where most runs end, in this game and in the original. Each straight ends in a square corner tile. In Jungle Relic Dash a turn press counts once the corner is close (the window grows as you speed up). The turn is then held until you reach the corner and fires on the exact spot that keeps you in your lane. Three habits help:
- Read the path, not the runner. Watch the far end of the straight. The new path’s side wall and the giant idol head tell you the direction long before you get there.
- Don’t mix lanes and turns. Lane changes close to a corner can be read as an early turn. Pick your lane first, then commit to the turn.
- Treat T-junctions as free choices. Both branches are full paths. Pick the side whose first metres look emptier.
Temple Run 3 FAQ
Is Temple Run 3 out?
Imangi Studios soft-launched the official sequel on iOS and Android in late 2025, available only in a few test countries (reported as Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Türkiye). We could not find a worldwide release date at the time of this update.
Can I play Temple Run 3 in a browser?
No. The official game is a mobile app. Imangi’s official browser release is Temple Run 2 on Poki. The game on this page, Jungle Relic Dash, is igame9’s own free runner in the same style, and it runs in any browser.
Who makes Temple Run?
Imangi Studios, an independent studio founded by Keith Shepherd and Natalia Luckyanova. Disney published the Brave and Oz spin-offs. igame9 is not affiliated with Imangi or Disney.
Why did I get caught when I only tripped once?
In Jungle Relic Dash the Stone Warden stays close for about seven seconds after a stumble. A second stumble in that window means you are caught. Wait for the red edge glow to fade before you take risks.
What do the power-ups do?
Magnet pulls nearby coins to you, Shield absorbs one crash or stumble (not falls), and Double Coins counts every coin twice. Each starts at 7–9 seconds and gains 2 seconds per upgrade level.
Is my progress saved?
Your best score, coin bank and upgrades are saved in your browser’s local storage on this device. Clearing site data or using a private window resets them.
